Piano Teacher

Kamryn Purdue is a passionate piano teacher dedicated to nurturing musical growth in students of all ages. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from Northwestern State University and brings a warm, thoughtful approach to every lesson.
Kamryn’s journey with the piano began when she was just eight years old, after her grandmother spotted a newspaper ad for local piano lessons. What started as childlike curiosity blossomed into a lifelong pursuit of musical excellence. That first lesson ultimately paved the way for her collegiate studies, where she refined her skills as a pianist and discovered her love for teaching.
While at Northwestern State University, Kamryn taught piano through the NSU Music Academy, where she prepared students for recitals and music festivals. It was during this time that her passion for teaching truly took root. Seeing her students grow in confidence and musical ability affirmed her calling to education.
Her teaching philosophy centers on fostering a well-rounded music education - one that includes reading music, developing strong aural skills, and understanding music theory. Kamryn believes that a solid foundation in each of these areas enhances technical ability while deepening a student’s appreciation for music. She strives to create a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel empowered to express themselves and perform with confidence.
